Surveillance Cameras Secure Meelunie GPI’s New Factory in Theft-Prone Hedensted

In May, Meelunie GPI opened its new production facilities in Hedensted, located in the central region of Denmark. Following incidents of theft during the early stages of construction, Kooi Security prevented further issues on the site, much to the satisfaction of the site manager, Jonatan Dickow: “The fixed price and the thorough introduction from the site manager makes Kooi special.”

The first steps toward a new factory were taken three years ago. As with other construction projects in the large Hedensted area, burglars were very interested in equipment and materials. “We had some thefts,” says Jonatan. “Fortunately, my neighbor had a good recommendation. He developed hybrid generators for wind turbines and had good experiences with Kooi’s mobile camera surveillance systems.”

Now, four UFOs (Kooi’s camera surveillance systems) protect the new factory, which houses tons of stainless steel. Many materials are stored outside, along with all the expensive equipment. “We also have continuous activity with people working at different times. So our doors are never locked. We simply don’t have enough keys,” Jonatan smiles.

The site manager did not make his decision for a reliable camera surveillance partner overnight: “We actually had another offer from a competitor, which might have cost less. But our stakeholders demand fixed prices, and with Kooi, we know exactly what our expenses are.” With Kooi, the unpredictable factor of follow-up costs and extra expenses related to break-ins is never an issue. The price is always fixed and includes guard responses and more.

“And then there’s the thorough introduction,” Jonatan continues. “Sales manager Kees Glandorff himself performed the installation of the two small UFOs and one with a broader detection area. It’s all very professional. Also, the cooperation with project manager Morten Dissing.”

After the theft of copper cables and the installation of the cameras, the construction site was properly secured: “Unwelcome guests and theft stopped immediately, and nothing serious has happened since,” says Jonatan.
